Having Problems With Your Bethesda Fallout and Elder Scrolls Games on Mac OS? This Might Fix It!
Fallout and Elder Scrolls games are primarily meant for PC Right? They cannot be run on Mac OS? Well, actually, no they can. There's software known as Codeweavers ™ Crossover and it can run Windows Applications on Mac OS and Linux. It does so by creating a virtual machine running Windows in order to run the Application in question. It has made plenty of Applications made for Windows quite capable of running on Mac OS!
Here is the Website for Codeweavers, the developer of the software:
So what is the problem? Why are the games by Bethesda not running so well on this software? The problem is with a current flaw in the process of installing the games by Bethesda, namely the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games which Bethesda has developed. The issue is that three files known as libraries do not install when creating the virtual windows machine. These files missing from the installed Fallout or Elder Scrolls game results in skippy audio and graphics. But fortunately, the neccessary files have been found and they can be easily added in to your Bethesda game quite easily!
Here is the Bethesda Audio Override.
This is what is known as the Bethesda Audio Override. I have this video here on YouTube on how to do it on Crossover. The major problem that causes numerous graphics and audio issues in Bethesda games for both Elder Scrolls and Fallout is that several library files do not install during the Direct X Installation from GOG.com. This same technique involves the Steam Bottle if you are trying to run Bethesda Games through Steam on Crossover.
The trick is to go into the wine configuration settings of either
Steam (If you are playing in Steam) or the Game Bottle in Crossover
(GOG.com version)
Now when you get into wine configuration, open the libraries tab and copy/paste the following libraries into the libraries of the Steam or Fallout game bottle.

x3daudio1_7
xaudio2_6
With any luck, this should drastically fix most issues on Bethesda Games in the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series when trying to run them on Codeweavers Crossover. I would recommend getting on the forums on the Codeweavers website if you use Codeweavers Crossover for help with getting your windows Applications up and running. It's a great way to keep in touch with users and testers such as yourself.
Also follow me on YouTube as well as the Codeweavers YouTube Channel. Plenty of helpful tips are available from either of us in video form.
