The Prince of Persia Trilogy on Mac OS!

 Steam Versions

And so, after two years, I have a new and updated guide for the 3D Prince of Persia games on Mac OS.  This video guide involves both the GOG.com versions of the game as well as the Steam versions of the games.  First, there is the Steam Installation Guide, both in video as well as in written form.  After that is done, the installation is straightforward on Steam, the big key is to not have the High Resolution Mode checked off in the special preferences box, as shown below, as the Prince of Persia Games were not developed for playing in high definition resolutions.

Advanced Settings for the Steam Bottle

Now, with the preferences established for Steam, you are free to run the Prince of Persia games.  The games will run smoothly with minimal issues.  Now on to the somewhat more complex, but still functional gameplay using the GOG.com versions of the games.

GOG.com

For the GOG.com versions of the games, it gets a little more complicated.  Here's what to do with each of the games using their GOG.com versions

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

For the GOG.com version of The Sands of Time, the default settings for the CrossTie will be to install the game in Steam, as shown below.  You will need to set the installer to the GOG Installer, and set the Bottle to be Windows 7 64-bit

Prince of Persia The Warrior Within

The setup is similar to how you installed Sands of Time, change the Installer from Steam to the GOG.com Installer, and change the bottle from Windows XP 32-bit into Windows 7 64-bit.  As shown below, this should be the configuration for installation.  While the "incompatibility" warning may pop up, this was for an older version of Crossover so a Windows 7 64-bit,

Prince of Persia The Two Thrones

For the third game in the trilogy, reset the installation settings to use the GOG.com Installer and set the Bottle for Windows 7, 64-bit.  This should be a breeze

Congratulations!

With all of these steps completed, you should have a great time playing both the Steam and GOG.com versions of the Prince of Persia Trilogy on Codeweavers Crossover!  In conclusion, I would like to invite you to check out the Forums on Codeweavers.  Entries for various apps have forums and Tips for getting the Applications to work!  If you are available to actively test and rate the compatibility of various Applications on Codeweavers Crossover, you may want to consider becoming a Bettertester!  As a Bettertester, you regularly test Apps and can be rewarded with Bettertester Points to buy merchandise or even extended subscriptions to Crossover, saving money you would need for renewing your subscription!
