A Guide to Deus Ex on Mac, Part II

(Invisible War)

After the event of Deus Ex being released on PC and then it's Sony Playstation 2 Port, The Conspiracy, a sequel came along in the form of Deus Ex Invisible War in 2003.  The sequel was a disappointment for many players of the first game with the new engine, new character designs and "ragdoll" physics applied to the game.  While this game was a disappointment for many fans of the series, a prequel, Deus Ex : Human Revolution, and another Prequel, Mankind Divided, would be released to better sales than Invisible War.  Here, in this guide, we are going to be going over how to get Invisible War Installed and Running on Mac OS using Codeweavers Crossover.

Installing Steam

So, for the Steam Version of Deus Ex : Invisible War, you should first install Steam.  There's an updated guide for installing Steam in two forms: one is a video guide on YouTube, while another is a written guide here on the blog, you can check out either or both, depending on your preferences for a walkthrough of how to get Steam up and running.  Once you have Steam Running, it's pretty easy to purchase the game on Steam, if you haven't already done so, along with installing it on Steam.  So, here are the two guides below.

GOG.com Version

The version found on the gaming service and store known as GOG.com is even more straightforward.  One way is to download your installer files from the game in your online library over on GOG.com.  The other way is to use GOG Galaxy, a client which you can install from GOG.com, and download installers from that server instead of going to the website.

Either way, you set up the installation like this:  Select the Installer Files for the Installer, instead of going with the default which is through Steam, and select Windows 7,64-bit as the operating system of the virtual machine.  It should appear like this:

After that, you are good to go!
