    So, do you remember the classic Deus Ex games? Stealth Action games featuring RPG elements such as dialogue and purchasing items?  Well, here I'm giving a new and updated guide to the games in the series, beginning with Deus Ex through Human Revolution!  First things first, we have this broken up into two versions of the game, GOG.com and Steam versions of each game.  Without much further ado, let's first take a look at some preparations for the games' installation.

 

 

 

 

Installing Steam

    For Steam Installations, you first need to install Steam.  I have an updated guide for Steam now that Codeweavers Crossover has been updated to version 25.  There are two guides : A written guide and a video guide.

 Now that Steam has been installed, It's easy to install and run both Deus Ex and the Revision Mod, the Revision mod, however, does not work in Steam, the base game does.

 

Deus Ex GOTY with The Revision Mod 

      Now, the way to set up the installation for the GOG.com version of Deus Ex GOTY with the Revision mod is to download all three installer files from the website, after you have made the purchase with GOG.com.  For visual reference, see below.

 

    Once you have downloaded the Installers, you now have the installation setup for Deus Ex GOTY.  There is no currently available bottle preset for installation of the game, so you need to install an unlisted application as shown below, with settings shown to guide you in the process.

 

 

 Now, for the installer, you should see these files and select the file entitled "setup_deus_ex_goty_1.112fm(revision_1.6.3.0)_(51757).exe"

 

Now, the installation screen should appear like this, at which point, you can hit the "Install" button

 

 

      After all the settings are completed,  Proceed with the installation of Deus Ex GOTY, then begin the installation of The Revision Mod.  The revision mod was a total conversion mod released in 2016 which redid many of the maps and areas within the game, along with adding improved multiplayer and more modes of play into the original base game.  If you do not wish to add this mod, you can stop with the installation of the base game.  If you do wish to add the new experience with challenges and reworked maps, here is a basic guide for that installation.

 

 

The key is to select "setup_deus_ex_revision_1.112fm(revision_1.6.3.0)_(51757).exe as the installer and to select the bottle of "Deus Ex GOTY" or whatever Bottle you have chosen for the base game as the Bottle within which you will install the total conversion mod.  Now proceed with the Installation with the GOG.com Installer!

 

Now, with the installation completed, the game bottle should appear something like this:

 

 

 Conclusion
