How to Play Oni on 64-Bit Mac OS!
What is Oni?
Oni was a cult classic fighting game from Bungie Software, the makers of Halo, and it was the last game released from Bungie West, a now gone division of Bungie, after the making of the Marathon Trilogy of first person shooters, and released in the same year as Halo : Combat Evolved on the XBox Console. The game was released on Mac OS and Microsoft Windows in 2001, and an additional port was released on the Sony Playstation 2.
The most famous element of this game is that it combines a hybrid of beat 'em up and shooting, similar to the Matrix spinoff games of Enter The Matrix in 2003 and The Matrix : Path of Neo in 2005. Now, there's an issue nowadays with this game on Mac OS: beginning with Mac OS Catalina, only 64-bit applications actually run on Mac OS! Now there are a number of ways around this, one of them is emulating Windows on Mac OS, where Windows such as Windows 7-10, or even Windows XP, can still run 32-bit applications.
So, for among my first episodes of Kaos Tutorials was how to get the game running on 64-bit Mac OS using Codeweavers Crossover. This version involves the game disc for PC to install the game.
