Yes, you can Still Play Older Assassin's Creed Games in 2026!

So yes, you can still play Assassin's Creed Games in this the current year of 2026!  The following only covers the games I have tested out of the series so far.  These include Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations.  I have not tested other games in the Assassin's Creed Series, although I plan to for additional results.  Let's go over how PC Users and Mac OS Users can get these classic open-world action games running

 PC Users

There are two main ways to get the Assassin's Creed games as a PC User, one of which is to get Ubisoft Connect, a game store connected to Ubisoft where you have a registered account with Ubisoft and can purchase and install games on your PC through the client.  There is also GOG.com, where you can, as of now, only buy the first Assassin's Creed game, but that may change in the future.  Then there is Steam, a gaming service with a wide selection of games old and new.  Any of those methods make for an easy access to playing the library of Assassin's Creed games.

Mac OS Users

For Mac OS Users, there is an easy way to get the games in the Assassin's Creed series running using Codeweavers Crossover!  With Crossover, you emulate Windows on Mac OS or on Linux.  The Mac OS method involves setting up Steam on Mac OS, along with installing Ubisoft Connect.  The full guide to install Steam is available in video form, along with written form, and the method includes installing Ubisoft Connect as well.  If you do not have Assassin's Creed on Steam, and just have Ubisoft Connect, I will show you how that works, next.

First is Steam

Now, there is an easy way to get Ubisoft Connect installed by itself, and the results are fine, but this doesn't work for running Ubisoft games within Steam sometimes.

Now, with Ubisoft Connect, there is a setup already there from Codeweavers, so Install using the crosstie!

Now, so far, the testing has included Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations.  Other Assassin's Creed games may also be compatible.  So check out other Assassin's Creed games by checking out the compatibility database over at Codeweavers for reference.

Conclusion

With all of these steps completed, you should have a great time playing  Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed Revelations on Codeweavers Crossover!  In conclusion, I would like to invite you to check out the Forums on Codeweavers.  Entries for various apps have forums and Tips for getting the Applications to work!  Other Applications with guides include Command & Conquer : Tiberian Sun, Heroes of Might & Magic IIIAge of Empires II, Fallout, Escape Velocity, and Prince of Persia  If you are available to actively test and rate the compatibility of various Applications on Codeweavers Crossover, you may want to consider becoming a Bettertester!  As a Bettertester, you regularly test Apps and can be rewarded with Bettertester Points to buy merchandise or even extended subscriptions to Crossover, saving money you would need for renewing your subscription!
