Getting Fallout 3 Running on Codeweavers Crossover 24!

     In the light of the Fallout TV Show on Amazon Prime, here is a guide to getting Fallout 3 running on Codeweavers Crossover 24.  There are a number of steps to getting the game running on Mac OS, and here is how it is done, followed by a video guide found on YouTube.  Now, let's get started!

    Currently, the game which runs well on Crossover 24 is the GOG.com version of the game.  First, get the installers for the game downloaded either from GOG Galaxy or from your account on the GOG.com website.  After getting all the components downloaded, Install the game as a Windows 7, 32-bit bottle from the GOG.com Installer.  After installing but before playing the game, you perform the Bethesda Audio Override.

=====The Bethesda Audio Override=====

So for a little trick when it comes to getting the graphics and the audio smoothed out.  Here is what you need to do.
After you Install Fallout 3 in Codeweavers Crossover, access the wine configuration for the bottle.

Now, in wine configuration, access the libraries tab.

The Libraries to add in using wine configuration are as follows:

x3daudio1_6
x3daudio1_7
xaudio2_6
xaudio2_7

Copy and Paste each of these libraries' Titles, click "Add", and Then after repeating for all of the missing libraries files, click  "apply" and "exit" to leave Wine Configuration and save the installed libraries.  How you apply the Bethesda Audio Override depends on whether or not you are using the Steam Version of the game.  In the non-steam versions, you use the wine configuration of the Fallout 3 Bottle.  If you use the Steam version of the game, use the Steam Bottle to apply the override.

After all of these steps are performed, then the game should work well, if it's not the Steam Version of the game.  Keep this entry for reference though, as even though the Steam version of the game may not work well for now, it may work well in the future.
